Before Your Carpet Installation

Before your carpet installation with Jordans Flooring, here is what you should expect:

Our team will walk you through our installation process, taking pains to answer any questions that you might have.

Waste management will be discussed.

You should ensure that children and pets are not present on installation day.

You should complete any painting that might need to be done.

Ensure that an adult is present on installation day.

You should remove furniture and fragile items from the installation area before your crew arrives.

During Your Carpet Installation

During your carpet installation with Jordans Flooring, we will complete the following:

Your flooring will be prepared.

Doors may be removed, along with other necessary fragile items.

We will lay down the underpad.

The crew will line up the carpet seams.

Lastly, the carpet will be stretched out and secured.

We will begin our QA and clean-up process. 

After Your Carpet Installation

After your carpet installation with Jordans Flooring, expect the following:

Your crew will walk you through the installation, answering any questions that you might have. 

You should run a fan to remove any installation smells. 

Allow the new carpet to settle before walking across it.

New Carpet Installation in British Columbia & Alberta

Our professional carpet installers in both provinces emphasize the importance of specific conditions and procedures for a successful new carpet installation:

It’s critical to maintain a minimum temperature of 18°C (64.4°F) for at least 48 hours before, during, and after installation. The relative humidity should be kept between 30% and 60% to prevent issues with the carpet and adhesive.

Your subfloor must be structurally sound, level, and permanently dry. For concrete slabs, the moisture content and pH level must be within the carpet manufacturer’s installation recommendations.

Proper ventilation is necessary during and after installation to dissipate odors from adhesives and new carpet fibers. It is recommended to run fans for at least 72 hours after a glue-down installation.

The height of a new carpet and pad can sometimes cause doors to not clear the floor. Our installers may need to remove doors and shave them down to ensure they open and close properly.
